My passion for teaching is deeply rooted in my love for empowering others with knowledge. I come from generations of educators and we value honesty, integrity, and individuality. I believe that we should embrace our diversities. We all differ and these differences impact our perceptions. Our perceptions of concepts can empower or cripple our minds ability to conceive. I seek to tear down negative preconceptions about chemical and pharmaceutical research. Many people feel that science is too difficult for them to master, but I want my students to understand that knowledge in this area is obtainable.

As a teacher, I am obligated to be a resource for my students. This obligation is not a burden, but an opportunity to develop a lasting relationship with each student. The majority of the time I am their academic liaison, but from time to time I assist in personal issues. I get pleasure when I can facilitate in any aspect of my students’ lives.

I am a mother and I bring a nurturing characteristic into the classroom. Many of my students say that I have become their motivation for seeking out their life's purpose.

My ultimate goal is to aid in further developing analytical thinking that is applicable in everyday life. The interdisciplinary department of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences allows me to teach a variety of students from different scientific backgrounds and I enjoy the challenge of uniting these backgrounds. To accomplish this, I attempt to learn from each of my students so they can better learn from me.

I have been blessed with this teaching opportunity that enables me to invest in the educational community that had a part in sculpturing who I have become. The teaching responsibility is one that I do not take lightly. I am proud to have trained some of our future pharmacists. I believe everyday is another opportunity to analyze and investigate new ideas and I do not intend to waste one minute of it.
