A DIRECTORY FOR DEALING WITH DIFFICULT STUDENTS & SENSITIVE CLASSROOM ISSUES

Teachers frequently find themselves confronted with student issues that go far beyond class assignments and difficult subject matter. As a result, many teachers often feel out of their depth when dealing with issues ranging from classroom disruptions (e.g. email abuse, sexual harrassment, attendance), personal problems (e.g. eating disorders, sexual abuse, substance abuse), or academic issues (e.g. study skills, academic honesty, student appeals).

The following resources are an excellent place to start when you find yourself in unfamiliar territory when dealing with difficult students or sensitive issues that you may not feel qualified to address.
