Lisa LaCross Teaching and Learning Specialist
Bldg: North Instructional Plaza
As a Teaching and Learning Specialist at the CTL, Lisa LaCross works with the Director and Assistant Directors to support faculty development programs. Currently, Lisa is collaborating with the participants of the Active Learning Summer Institute to measure the program’s impact. She conducts and provides feedback to faculty on mid-semester course evaluations. Lisa is also working on a project that investigates effective inclusive teaching strategies from minority students’ perspectives.
Lisa’s curiosity about effective pedagogy stems from her diverse and extensive teaching background which includes teaching English as a foreign language in Africa, as a second language in inner-city Birmingham, Alabama and to adults in Athens, Georgia. Most recently, she led courses in French and Linguistics at the University of Georgia, while obtaining her Ph.D. in Linguistics.
When not at the CTL, Lisa enjoys running, hiking, picnicking, and occasionally taking epic road trips to Canada with her family.
