Do you love exploring and trying to make sense of the different epistemological and theoretical approaches to interviewing and observing and collecting and analyzing documents and other artifacts? Qualitative research methods, design, and conceptual frameworks draw from all of the academic areas that study human behavior and experience. Engaging other qualitative traditions across the disciplines and fields enriches our instruction in these approaches and our research practice.

Participants can be from any discipline. Some prior training in and/or familiarity with qualitative research methods is preferable.

In this faculty learning community, we will ask each member to engage the faculty learning community in a particular challenge or nuance from their own scholarship. The collective will then identify resources (journal articles, book chapters, books, films) and add personal perspectives to influence the outcome (thinking or practice). The goal is to create a qualitative research workgroup that is thoughtful and productive for the members.
