Governor's Teaching Fellows

Description: The Governor's Teaching Fellows Program is designed for faculty members who teach at accredited public or private colleges or universities in Georgia, other than the University of Georgia. This program was established in 1995 by the Honorable Zell Miller, Governor of Georgia 1991-1999, to provide Georgia's higher education faculty with expanded opportunities for developing important teaching skills.

Emeriti Scholars Program

Description:This program provides opportunities for outstanding retired faculty who wish to continue their commitment and involvement in the academic life of campus.

* Lilly Teaching Fellows Program

Description: This fellowship is designed for junior faculty without significant teaching experience at the college or university level prior to joining the UGA faculty. Nominations are due March 2, 2007 for the 2007-2009 program.

Postdoctoral Teaching Fellows Program

Description: The major responsibilities of the Fellows include the teaching of undergraduate students, expansion of personal scholarship, and the enhancement of skills that are essential to college and university teaching.

Senior Teaching Fellows Program

Description:This faculty development opportunity is designed for senior faculty members. Any faculty member with the rank of associate or full professor who has been at the University of Georgia for at least five years is eligible for nomination to this program. Nominations due March 12, 2004

UGA Libraries Mentor Program

Description:The Mentor Program is designed to provide a resource for interests and knowledge while building relationships within the Libraries and beyond. Through The Mentor Program, participants can identify other faculty and staff who share the same interests.

Description: Part of the Honors Program at the University of Georgia, the Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities (CURO) seeks to promote opportunities for undergraduates to engage in research with premier research faculty.

English Department Mentoring and Advising

Description: The purpose of the mentoring program is to promote contact between undergraduates and faculty members. For the student, the mentoring program is an opportunity to get to know, and to make yourself known to, at least one faculty member during the course of your studies in this department.

Freshman College Summer Experience

Description: The purpose of the Faculty Mentor Program is to provide Freshman College students with the opportunity to develop an informal relationship with a faculty member who will serve in a supportive non-evaluative role and will help students navigate the transition to college life. Students also have the option of requesting a mentor based on academic and professional interests.

Honors Faculty Mentor Program

Description: The Honors Faculty Mentor Program provides Honors freshmen with a mentor who will provide a link to the academic life of the university and who can advise on career and graduate school planning.

Senior Foundation Fellows

Description: The Foundation Fellows Program seeks to foster a community of undergraduate scholars and leaders by providing intellectual, cultural, and service opportunities in an environment conducive to learning and personal growth through shared knowledge and experience.

SMARTEES: Starting Meaningful Academic Relationships to Enhance Every Student's Success, Creswell Hall

Description: SMARTEES, is an effort to help residents of Creswell Hall adjust to the academic climate at UGA and provide opportunity for greater faculty and staff presence in the Creswell Community. Four components comprise the SMARTEES program: 1) programs presented by faculty and staff, 2) a bi-monthly academic focused newsletter, 3) recognizing and rewarding "B" or better academic achievement with prize drawings each semester and 4) providing peer tutoring 3 nights each week via the office of Academic Enhancement.
